Anythink Libraries to Open First Self-Service Library in Commerce City

You're invited to the grand opening- October 28th!

October 20, 2026

What if you could visit your local library on your own schedule, without needing staff on-site?

On Oct. 28, Anythink Libraries will open its first-ever self-service Express Library in Commerce City's growing Reunion neighborhood, introducing a new way for Colorado residents to access books, technology and free library resources seven days a week.

The new location allows visitors to enter with their library cards, browse and check out books, pick up holds, use computers and access other library services independently. It's part of Anythink's broader effort to bring convenient, cost-effective library access to growing communities, with a second Express Library planned for Northglenn in 2027.

The community is invited to the grand opening Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring tours, family activities, refreshments and more.

The community is invited to celebrate the opening with free activities for all ages and an opportunity to explore the new library.

Located at 15400 E. 103rd Place in Reunion’s shopping district, the new Anythink Reunion Express Library brings essential library services closer to where residents live, shop and attend school. Unlike traditional branches, the retail-style library allows customers to enter using their library cards, browse a curated collection, pick up holds, check out materials and access technology independently during extended operating hours.

The opening reflects a broader shift in how public libraries are exploring smaller, more flexible spaces to meet evolving community needs. The Express Library model allows Anythink to expand access into growing neighborhoods without the footprint and operating costs of a traditional branch, offering a cost-effective approach to bringing library resources closer to the community.

“Public libraries should evolve alongside the communities they serve,” said Mark Fink, executive director of Anythink Libraries. “The Reunion Express Library allows us to bring the resources people value closer to their everyday lives, with the flexibility to visit on their own schedules. It’s an innovative way to expand access, serve growing neighborhoods and make thoughtful use of public resources.”

In addition to books and other materials, the library will offer public computers, free Wi-Fi, printing, copying and faxing services, along with regular programs and community activities. The location will be open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. After registering for access, customers can access the building using their library cards, with security and monitoring systems in place, regular visits from Anythink staff and phone assistance available when needed.

The Reunion opening is the first step in Anythink’s broader Express Library expansion strategy. A second location is planned for Northglenn in 2027, restoring dedicated library service to a community that has been without its own branch for 16 years.
